Growing up, visiting Toys 'R' Us was one of my favorite things to do. What kid doesn't love toys? Despite closing all store locations in 2018, Toys 'R' Us partnered with Candytopia, and invited its way back into our lives with an epic adventure! The Toys 'R’ Us Adventure provides an immersive toy and play experience that celebrates the ageless joy of classic toys. This larger than life playground is fun for the entire family.
Similar to Candytopia, and other immersive popup experiences, the Toys 'R' Us Adventure is a toy wonderland housing multiple rooms with different toy themes. Featured brands included Schleich, PAW Patrol, Melissa & Doug. Each brand contributes to the fun and offers a unique interactive experience.
Jungle Adventure presented by Schleich allows visitors to trek through a safari-themed room featuring life-sized stuffed giraffes, lions, and other animals. This adventure also had a slide, but the highlight of the room is the Jurassic Park-like photo op where you can sit in a safari jeep and pose as if you're escaping a dinosaur.
Melissa & Doug's Big and Small Playroom featured life-sized versions of every day toys. This room featured a life-sized xylophone (that you could actually step on), a Strawberry swing, seesaw, slide, and life-sized blocks.
PAW Patrol's Adventure Bay was my favorite room. This adventure allowed you to enter the room via zip-line. There was also a slide, and a cute photo opp in the PAW Patrol car.
Medieval Fairy-tale Disco lets visitors take a break and show off their dance moves in a medieval-like castle complete with a light up dance floor.
Polar Vortex brings "winter wonderland" to life with a life-sized Yeti figure and tons of snow (white tissue paper confetti)!
The Three Little Pigs come to life outside of the book in this room that allows visitors to build their own house with foam bricks, wood, and other materials. The Big Bad Wolf is nearby on the wall with a built-in fan, and he will be sure to huff, puff, and blow your house down.
Overall, the Toys 'R’ Us Adventure is a lot of fun for the everyone. I had a great time. Also, there are tons of photo opportunities! Some exhibits even have staged photo areas that will email you your photos after your adventure, so be ready to pose.
